All Saints' Church Choir
The Choir
All Saints Church has a long tradition of high-quality choral music. The choir sings Eucharist every Sunday morning, and Choral Evensong twice per month.
Julian Parkin became our Choirmaster in September 2008.

Join The Choir
The choir is recruiting singers in all parts. A bursary is
paid to choristers, and scholarships are available to sixth form and university students. The choir sings high-quality sacred music from the 9th to the 21st centuries and has
a vibrant social life culminating in an annual cathedral visit in August. In 2010 we spent four days at Ely Cathedral.

Organ
The original organ, described as a 'neat little organ' when it was installed in 1820, was replaced in 1879 by the large four-manual instrument by William Hill which you see today. It has, however, undergone considerable alteration over the years; it was rebuilt in 1925, new speaking stops were added to give it the style of that time, and as a result its original character was largely lost. In 1981/2 it was altered again, and an attempt was made to restore some of the 'Hill sound' to the Great section. more information

Organ recitals
Are a regular feature of All Saints' musical life. From time to time we have a Celebrity Organ Recital, at which an organist of international reputation is invited to play, and on Bank Holidays between Easter and the autumn there is a free recital, usually by our organist or one of his colleagues, in the morning, followed by a ploughman's lunch in the Urquhart Room.

Concerts
The church is a popular venue for concerts by orchestras and choirs. Because of its size it can accommodate a full orchestra and choir, and house a large enough audience to make a concert commercially viable.

See the Events page for forthcoming concerts.

for links to orchestras and choirs who use this church for venue throughout the year.
